For most small businesses, Microsoft 365 Business Premium covers the essentials: Office apps, email, cloud storage, and baseline security features like device management. It's built for organizations under 300 users and balances cost with capability well.
Larger or more security-conscious organizations often move to the Enterprise tiers. E3 adds more advanced compliance and device management tools, while E5 layers in advanced threat protection, analytics, and voice capabilities — but at a meaningfully higher price point that only makes sense if you'll actually use those features.
